I’m trying to decide if I want to audition for a play about a Russian woman. Are there certain physical characteristics of Russian women that I would need if I want the part? Here are some examples:
Eye color
Hair color
Cheekbones (very noticeable, or not very noticeable?)
Height (tall, short?)
Skin tone (light, dark?)
Now I realize that everyone is an individual, but you can clearly identify Asian, Hispanic, and Italian people. Is it like this for Russian people?
Thank you for your serious, polite answers!

Strong. Big boned.
Eye color – blue
Hair color – blonde
Cheekbones – noticeable
Height tall
Skin tone light
They pretty much have a variety of looks.
So, don’t worry about that.
Height…tall.
Skin tone…Fair…like white.
Mm…that’s about it. They’re beautiful.
Hope you do well…
By the way…how are you auditoning?
Eye Color: Doesn’t matter, but I would think brown.
Hair Color: Again doesn’t matter.
Cheekbones: Doesn’t matter
Height: Tall, but still shorter than their husbands.
Skin tone: Light, or maybe a little tan because it is SO COLD in Russia.
Body Type: A little more than curvy (but they could be skinny, but with all those dress skirts on to keep them warm, they look a little fat)
Clothing Type: Dark colors
Here’s a pic that was made by anthropologists as a portrait of a typical Russian man and a woman:
Here’s an article about their research:
I’ve read another article about that research and it said that poor-blooded Russian people tend to have light eyes and hairm rather small and straight noses and average-sized lips.
Well I was said that I look like a typical Russian girl (I am Russian):
Eye color: grey-green
Hair color: light brown
Cheekbones: rather noticeable round cheekbones
Height : I’m rather short (163 cm), but I’m shorter than the majority of girls I know.
Skin tone: light, even pale.
But actually you can meet practically any ethnic type in Russia, because there a lot of not ethnically Russian people and there a lot of Russian people who are actually are mixed with other ethnicities.
Russians basically just Slavic. They tend to be darker than other Slavic groups like Poles. I don’t think Russians are as blonde as they are stereotyped to be, but many of them are blonde. They don’t look like Scandinavians or North Europeans, though. You can often tell when someone is Russian if they look European, but something about them is exotic/interesting looking.
